As a Youth Worker, you have the rewarding job of providing supportive human services to our youth participants with varying degrees of developmental disabilities and behavioral challenges. You could work with these youth before and after school when school is out and on some weekends. In collaboration with the Behavior Support and Outcome Specialist teams, you help these youth develop socially and learn life skills in order to reach personal goals and increase independence. We are seeking positive role models for our young population. 


You provide services in one-on-one settings. You may work on daily living skills for great interdependence. You may also work on skill-building to assist these youth in coping with their emotions according to their individualized service plans. You teach coping skills and anger management strategies. You are consistent and apply your excellent interpersonal and communication skills to your work. You are conscientious about keeping up-to-date and accurate documentation about all interventions and outcomes.It is your job to encourage youth to participate in activities including games, fitness, arts/crafts, community engagement, outdoor recreation, music, and much more. 


Though your job is extremely satisfying, it also may have its challenges. Using training and coaching, you patiently respond to verbal or physical aggression with the appropriate behavioral interventions and are committed to the safety of all involved. Your empathy comes through in your interactions with each participant that you work with, but you also maintain proper professional boundaries at all times. If you love making a difference in the lives of youth and are passionate about continuing to develop your knowledge and skills this position is for you.


  • 18 years or older

  • Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle (transport clients daily)

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, work with limited supervision.

  • Weekend availability

  • Basic understanding of issues that affect people with disabilities

  • Willingness to complete Job Trainings and Team Meetings

  • Some previous experience in youth services preferred
